Dates and time: 06-10 May, 2013 (9:00 – 17:30)Technological innovation is taking place at a breath-taking pace. Simple, open source internet-based applications and services designed to enhance on-line collaboration are now available to the wider public at little or no cost at all. These new online technologies known as Web 2.0 and Social Media applications enable people to collaborate to create, share and publish information. The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation EU-ACP (CTA) has a mandate to facilitate access to and dissemination of information in the fields of agriculture and rural development in 78 countries in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP). Supporting the adoption of Web 2.0 applications represents a great opportunity for meeting it. KINU in collaboration with CTA will host a 5-day Web 2.0 Learning Opportunity on 06 – 10 May, 2013. Participants will be introduced to selected web 2.0 applications including social media and will learn how to use them hands-on. The Learning Opportunity will cover advanced online searching, getting information served via alerts and RSS, collaborating remotely using wikis and Google Docs, using VoIP, online mapping and social networking. Participants will get a chance to see what others have done, get hands-on experience on how to use innovative applications, and assess how they could adopt these innovations within the context of their work and organisation.

Mhitimu wa chuo kikuu cha Sokoine awekeza kijijini kwao
Pale inapotokea mhitimu wa chuo kikuu anaacha kutafuta kazi nzuri kwenye azuri na badala yake anarudi kijijini na kuwekeza kwenye ufugaji wa samaki watu wengi wanashindwa kuelewa na kuwa na wasiwasi wa elimu yake. Jamii yetu imezoea mtu akienda shule , akishamalima masomo yake anatakiwa apate kazi nzuri na hiyo ndio heshima ya mtoto huyo katika jamii yake. Dunia imebadirika na mambo yamebadirika sana na jamii yetu inatakiwa kujua hivyo. Kijana Simoni Kinabo ambaye amemaliza chuo kikuu cha sokoine baada ya kumaliza masomo yake ya chuo kikuu aliamua kuwekeza katika ufugaji wa samaki, hivyo anafanya biashara ya samaki wabichi. Mradi huu ameuanzisha ila watu wengi walimuona kana kwamba amefanya maamuzi ya kijinga kutokana na kiwango cha elimu aliyonayo na kuamua kubaki kijijini.
Mradi huo unaoitwa ”Rombo Unique Agriculture project ” ambao amewekeza hapo kijijini (ushiri-Ikuini, kijiji ambacho anatoka kiko wilaya ya Rombo mkoa wa kilimanjaro.” Mradi huu alianza kwa kuchimba Bwawa kubwa la samaki lenye ukubwa wa mita za mraba mia sita na likiwa na kina cha futi tano akiwa na lengo la kuzalisha aina mbili za samaki kwa ajiri ya Biashara.
Kijana huyu anasamaki karibia elfu ishirini katika bwawa lake wenye asili ya afrika, kutokana na umuhimu wa samaki katika kanda hii ambapo hutumika kama kitoweo na wengi wa samaki wamekuwa wakitokea kanda ya ziwa victoria.
Bwana Kinabo anategemea kuzalisha samaki kwa ajili ya biashara ndani ya miezi sita, akiwa na uhakika wa masoko katika shule nne(Kiraeni,ugwasi, Mkuu na shauritanga), vile vile katika Hospitali ya Huruma, Kitua cha masista cha Huruma na katika jera ndogo mahali hapo.
”Hakuna aliyefikiri kusambaza samaki kijijini hapo kwa kuwazalisha hapo hapo, hiki ni kitu ambacho kimeongeza kitoweo katika milo yao ya kila siku” anasema Bwana Kinabo. “unapotokeza na kitu kipya hapa, watu walianza kumfanyia uhasama wa mradi kwa kuweka sumu kwenye Bwanwa hilo kwa sababu alikuwa akipata maji kutoka katika vyanzo asilia ikawa rahisi kwa wapinzani wake kufanikiwa wakati huo. Kuna wakati alikuta samaki wote wamekufa kwa kuwekewa sumu, hakukata tamaa akaona atafute fursa ya kuongea na wanakijiji ili kutoa elimu na umuhimu wa mradi kama huo hapo kijijini.
Katika mavuno ya samaki kwa mara ya kwanza Bwana kinabo aligawa kwa wanakijiji bure, Hali hiyo ikawafanya wanakijiji kuthamini bwawa hilo na kusaidia kulilinda kwanina wa hapo kijijini wanapata ajira kwa kulifanyia usafi na kutunza mazingira katika maeneo yanayo lizunguka Bwawa hilo.
“Changamoto nyingine ni namna ya kupata leseni na kuishawishi jamii katika mradi kama huu hasa linapokusuara la kuwekeza” anasema Bwana kinabo. Fedha zinahitajika, na leseni inahitajika linapokuja suara la mkopo, Hapa ndipo xnilipoweza KUPATA MSAADA BENKI YA CRDB kwa kunipatia mkopo kupitia mpango wao kabambe wa kuwawezesha wahitimu wa vyuo vikuu ili waweze kuendesha miradi yao badala ya kusubiri kuajiriwa. Mkurugenzi mwajiri wa CRDB, Bi dorah Ngaliga anasema “Benki yetu inampango wa kuwasaidia wahitimu watanzania ili waweze kuwa waajiri na sio watu wanaosubiri kuajiriwa baada ya kumaliza chuo kikuu, vile vile tutaendelea kuwasaidia watu binafsi na taasisi za elimu ya juu”
Benki hiyo ambayo huajiri wafanyakazi zaidi ya 300 ambao ni wahitimu wa vyuo vikuu kila mwaka, hivyo wahitimu wanatakiwa kupeleka mipango na mikakati ya miradi yao ya kibiashara ili iweze kufanyiwa tathimini na itakayoshinda itapata mikopo ya kifedha kama ilivyofanya kwa Bwana kinabo. Benki hiyo inafadhili karibu miradi 15 nchi nzima. “Benki hii imenikopesha milioni ishirini na baada ya miezi sita naanza kufanya marejesho ya shilingi milioni tatu na laki mbili kila baada ya miezi sita” anasema Bwana kinabo, vile vile aliendelea kwa kusema shilingi milioni 17 amewekeza kwenye shamba la samaki na pia ana mabwawa madogo mawili ya kuongezea kwenye bwawa lake kubwa.
